HOW TO FIX AN HP PRINTER THAT DOES NOT TURN ON?


When HP Printers do not Turn On

STEP 1: The Power Test

i)Firstly, check if the printer is properly plugged in or not.

ii) Disconnect the printer plug from the power outlet, wait for a few seconds and plug it back in.

iii) After plugging the printer again press the Power button located on it.

iv)Notice whether the power light indicator lights up or starts blinking rapidly. If not, then press

the Power button once more.

Note:Do not press down on the Power button for a longer period of time. As it may lead to the

printer to power up and promptly shut down.

STEP 2: Check for Hardware Damage

i)After the previous test check the printer for any sign of hardware damage. Extreme hardware

damage can lead to HP printers won’t turn on.

ii)To check for damage, first,disconnect the printer from the power source. Disconnect the power

cable along with the power module.

iii)If you are operating a mobile printer then a rechargeable battery works as the power supply.

After that removing the power supply of the printer checks for any visible physical damage.

Note:A green light located on the power module, indicating after attaching the power cable to the

outlet,shows its effectiveness. If not turned on then this indicates that the power cable is

damaged.In ths case replace the cable.

STEP 3: Check the Power Outlet

i)Begin with reattaching the power supply to the HP printer.

ii)Switch on the power outlet. If the printer is still not responding then change the power outlet

with which you are currently working.

iii)Plug the power cable to a new power source and turn on the power.

Note: If the printer works then it is obvious that the problem is with the power outlet.


STEP 4: Remove the USB Wire

i) Turn your HP printer and locate the USB connecting port.

ii)After it, remove the USB connector. Now,turn on the printer. If the printer functions then

know that faulty or damaged USB connector is the problem.

Note: Either remove the USB connector permanently or replace it with a new one.
